Biocidal Products can be used frequently in the field of industry as well as many products that many of us use or are exposed to in daily life are also evaluated within the scope of Biocidal Product.

Biocidal Products are separated into various product types according to their usage areas. The first five Biocidal Product Types are products that directly or indirectly contact living things such as humans or animals. It is possible that they can provide hygiene or disinfection in direct or indirect ways for the living things. Liquid soaps, cleaners, wet wipes, for example, used as antibacterial are evaluated in this category. Biocidal Products are also products that protect the indoors or outdoors environment where living things are, from bacteria, fungi, viruses, spores or other microorganisms. In other words hygiene products, all disinfectants, antibacterial used in any area are also Biocidal Products. Apart from this, products used to provide disinfection in all these areas follow from drinking water to pool water are evaluated within the scope of Biocidal Product.

One of the examples that can be given to the usage areas of the products evaluated in this context is the forms of use in food or animal transport. Biocidal Products can be used for food or animal transport, for the protection of the transport area and the instruments used there on, as well as for disinfection and protection against microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi or other microorganisms.

The usage areas of Biocidal Products are not only areas in which living things or living things interact. Products used to protect the construction of films or coatings, slimicide inhibitor or surface properties of materials such as paints, plastics, insulating materials, wall glue, binders, paper, artwork, wood, leather rubber paper textile products, polymers, etc. are also referred to as Biocides.

Products that are used against pests, mice, rats and harmful insects or animals that we all know well are also covered by the "Biocidal Product". Apart from this, the products used to control other rodents, birds, Mollusca group creatures, fishes, insecticides, acaricides and other arthropods are also considered within the same scope.

In short, products that are active against organisms, especially microorganisms used in any field, are Biocidal. These products can be placed on the Turkish market after fulfilling the requirements of the " Biocidal Products Regulation".
