KKDIK Individual Temporary Registration: 30 September 2026 Critical Deadline
What is Individual Temporary Registration?
In the previous period, as stated in the Procedures and Principles published on 5 August 2025, the Chemicals Advisory Group was established. During the meetings held by this group, it was aimed to ensure that the KKDIK registration processes are carried out in a simpler, faster, and more efficient manner.
One of the decisions taken within this scope was to allow temporary registration processes to be conducted individually. This implementation is referred to as “Individual Temporary Registration”.
Individual Temporary Registration Process and Deadline
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change has published an announcement titled “Relevant Issues in the Chemical Registration Process” regarding KKDIK (Turkey REACH) processes conducted through the Chemicals Registration System (KKS).
Accordingly, companies must complete their individual temporary registrations for substances, regardless of tonnage, by 30 September 2026. The relevant process can be summarized as follows:
- According to the new implementation, all substances within the scope must have either a temporary or a full registration by 30 September 2026, regardless of whether a Lead Registrant exists or the tonnage band of the substance.
- With this new implementation, the previous approach—under which co-registrants of a substance with a completed Lead Registration could wait for their tonnage-based deadline—has changed. Within this scope, co-registrants must also complete their registration processes no later than 30 September 2026.
- The types of applications that can be completed by 30 September 2026 are as follows:
- Joint Submission – Full Registration
- Joint Submission – Temporary Registration
- Individual Submission – Temporary Registration - In order for substances within the scope of KKDIK to continue being placed on the market, the relevant registration number must be obtained by 30 September 2026.
- Member companies of a substance for which a full registration dossier has already been submitted by the Lead Registrant may submit their individual temporary registrations through KKS by providing the relevant justification.
- Companies that have obtained a full registration number are not required to obtain a temporary registration number for the same substance.
